Service Agreement

Working with us: We are trained SYMBIS facilitators with 15 years’ experience coaching couples. We will expect you to work together to move forward in your relationship including any ‘homework’ we ask you to complete between sessions. We are not trained Psychotherapists so should either we or you feel that you are not moving forward or that there are issues that need more specialised help, we will signpost you to a trained therapist.

Confidentiality: All information you provide is held in confidence. This means that we will not normally give your name or any information about to anyone without your written permission. However, there are exceptional cases where we might ethically or legally have to give information to relevant authorities, for example if we have reason to believe that someone, especially a child is at serious risk of harm or to prevent a miscarriage of justice. Should this be the case we would discuss with you beforehand on how we will disclose this information.

Domestic Violence: Violence and abuse is an issue for some people. We know from experience that in this situation working with couples or family members together may not be safe. If this is to, we will signpost sources of specialist support if that is appropriate.

Privacy:

• Please ensure that you have complete privacy for your session. This includes making sure that you will not be disturbed; that children are safely looked after elsewhere and that pets are settled so that they don’t interrupt your session.
• Mobile Phones: Please mute your mobile phone during your sessions as it can create an unhelpful distraction and interruption.
• Unauthorised electronic recording: In order us to work safely and effectively together it is important that the privacy of other work is respected. Please do not attempt to record your session.

Payment: A minimum of one day prior to the scheduled session. If payment is not received one day before the session it will be assumed the session is not going to take place and it can be offered to other clients who may be waiting.

Price: £75 per session
The first 20-minute session is free which is there to find out if and how we can work together. All sessions thereafter are 60 minutes long.

Cancellation: A full refund if cancelled more than 24 hours before the session. No refund if cancelled 24 hours or less before the session.

Timescales: Sessions will generally be weekly or fortnightly depending on what is agreed between us. We would expect to work with you for six to eight sessions, after which we will review whether more session are required and agree the desired outcome of those sessions.
